SFL concentrates on US flag vessel charters, fixing both spot and time charters, including U.S. flag tankers, bulk carriers, containerships and roro vessels. Our focus has been on charters with US oil companies, US Government food aid cargoes and US Navy charter requirements (Military Sealift Command). SFL works with FEMA in emergencies, recently chartering cruise ships to FEMA as accommodation vessels in the Caribbean region.

Sale & Purchase Broker

For all types of vessels. Recent transactions have included tankers, icebreakers, bulkers, roro vessels and cruise vessels. We have specialized in sales transactions with international shipowners seeking to sell vessels to US owner for charters with the US Navy, working with S&P brokers worldwide to obtain tonnage. SFL has worked with the US Maritime Administration on various solicitations to purchase vessels.

Newbuilding Broker

Newbuilding brokerage for US and international flag vessels. Transactions for the US flag market include product tankers, ATBs, bulkers and an LNG fueling barge; on the international market, AHTS vessels and ice class crude tankers. These brokerage activities included close work with vessel designers and marine engineers. We have strong relationships with all US shipyards. SFL is active in the wind turbine installation sector, for newbuilding of US flag vessel to serve this market.
